Event preview: Festivus

See also

Seinfeld fans know that though Festivus is a parody of a holiday, it's still a good party. The Crocker Art Museum will be holding a Festivus party this Thursday, and it looks like it'll be a great time.

For those who aren't aware of what Festivus is, there will be a continuous screening of the Seinfeld episode in which Festivus is invented. You'll be able to participate in lots of events, whether you want to submit a grievance to be read on stage or compete in a Feat of Strength competition with the Sac City Rollers derby team. You can also bring your unwanted presents to the Festivus Re-Gift Exchange. If you're feeling creative, you can make your own Festivus pole or take some photos in the photo booth.

There will be music and dancing all night. From 5:00 - 8:00 pm, DJ Rated R of Sleeprockers will play a special Festivus set. Then, from 8:00 - 9:00 pm, local band Gentleman Surfer will play.

There will also be food and drinks available. A menu, along with a schedule of events, is available at the event's website. You can also RSVP on the event's Facebook page.

This event looks like it'll be a lot of fun, for Festivus veterans and novices alike!

When: Thursday, December 12, 5:00 - 9:00 PM
