Last Thursday the Inglot Cosmetics Studios threw open it's doors to fashion designers and entrepreneurs. Donella Tilery, founder of New Jersey Fashion Week, and Fashion Group International Membership Committee Chair, arranged an evening for new and emerging designers to meet bloggers, media, and most importantly-customers.
Guests were offered tasty popcorn and chocolate treats spiced up by 'Dirty Dust', a spice mix invented by Ian Russo, also known as the Dirty Chef. Elegant glasses of prosecco and lambrusco (a delicious ruby red sparkling wine from Italy) were provided by NY importer DivJna Wines. Vita Coco donated refreshing coconut libations in a range of flavors.
While noshing and sipping, designers showcased their wares. On hand were Reba Dilbert from the Cayman Islands, who showed carnival outfits dripping with feathers and rhinestone embellished wedding gowns in duchesse satin.
Kholyns Couture showed some adorable spring summer outfits, great dresses with pleased skirts and ling shorts for men, nicely done in bespoke fabrics inspired by their Nigerian heritage.
Joanna Lim of Shanghai showed off her lovely (seriously, stylish and cozy) coat collection called Oba Asia. Ayasha of Urban Socialites NJ was on hand to capture the event with lively commentary and interviews.
The group of designers are supported by Fashion Group International, was founded in 193, and they provide the support and networking opportunities that fashion professionals thrive on. To find out more about them or to join, go to www.fgi.org.
