Evelyn Lozada divorce: VH1 star files after Chad Johnson arrest

Evelyn Lozada's divorce filing comes just six weeks after her wedding to former Miami Dolphins player Chad Johnson, formerly known as Ochocinco. TMZ reported that she filed for divorce on Aug. 14, 2012 in Florida, "claiming her marriage is 'irretrievably broken.'"

The football player proposed to the model back in November 2010 after just four months of dating. Chad presented his future bride with an extravagant 10 carat diamond engagement ring, which she immediately showed off on Twitter with the message "I'm no rabbit but 10 carats looks good on me!! Let the hating begin."

Chad Johnson allegedly head-butted his wife during an argument over a receipt for condoms over the weekend. Lozada reportedly confronted Johnson on the drive home from a restaurant where they had just eaten dinner. The altercation started after she found the condom receipt in the car. Johnson was arrested on Aug. 11, 2012 on a domestic violence charge stemming from the incident, reported NFL.com. He was booked at the Broward County Sheriff's Office in Florida and released on Sunday morning.

The couple's Fourth of July wedding was documented for the reality television series "Ev and Ocho," which was canceled after the domestic violence incident. The Miami Dolphins also released Chad Johnson from the team after the allegations by Evelyn Lozada. The divorce filing is the most recent installment in the saga.
