Eve joins Shaggy and Friends lineup

Grammy-winning American rapper, Eve has become the latest inclusion on the lineup for the upcoming Shaggy and Friends charity concert in January 2012.

The first lady of the prominent Ruff Ryders hip-hop group appears on the bill; replacing R&B superstar, Ne-Yo who withdrew from Shaggy and Friends after the show was pushed back a week due to upcoming elections, hence, triggering a scheduling conflict. Eve joins fellow Grammy-winning artiste, Lauryn Hill and 80s songstress, Deniece Williams as international acts slated to perform at the event.

This will mark Eve’s second performance in Jamaica within a year as she appeared at the Excellence in Music and Entertainment (EME) Awards this past February. Eve performed the collaborative single, He Is At My House alongside Dancehall superstar, Lady Saw while also receiving the Friend of Reggae Award from event organizer and radio personality Richard 'Richie B' Burgess.

The third edition of annual event, hosted by Dancehall/Reggae superstar, Orville “Shaggy Burrell will aim to raise sufficient funds for the constructions of a 15-bed cardiac intensive care unit at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in St Andrew. The prior two editions of Shaggy and Friends reeled in over JA$57 million.

Local acts scheduled to perform at Shaggy and Friends include Assassin aka Agent Sasco, Romain Virgo, Half Pint, Coco Tea, Tami Chynn and Wayne Marshall amongst others.
