Today, May 20, 2012, kicks off Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library's summer reading program. Anyone can sign up today from 1:00-4:30 at Central Library downtown and read to win prizes. The sign up begins city wide at other branches tomorrow. All you need is a library card and a love for books

The summer reading program will last through July 30, 2012 and children can earn different prizes as they read in 15 minute increments or a single book.

The EVPL has a schedule available at all branches for summer classes and events to keep kids busy when school is out. Be sure to ask for one when at the Library next or check out the schedule online.

The EVPL has also started a fun color coded guide to help children find books in their reading level. The color coding information sheet is on the back of the Kid's Event Brochure.

Do not forget to sign up for the adult summer reading program too.
