Evans sets franchise record as Roughnecks beat Mammoth Friday

According to the Canadian Press, it was a record night Friday for the Calgary Roughnecks at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

Shawn Evans set a Roughnecks record for most points in a game with twelve as Calgary defeated the Colorado Mammoth 19-12 for their first win of the season. Evans notched four goals and eight assists in the victory.

The Roughnecks got revenge on the Mammoth, who defeated Calgary 13-12 in overtime on January 19 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Calgary got off to a great start by scoring seven goals in the first quarter to Colorado's four. Their seven goal win was also the most lopsided victory in the National Lacrosse League on Friday night.

With the win, the Roughnecks move into a second place tie in the Western Division at one win and two losses. They are tied with the Mammoth and Edmonton Rush, and are a game and a half back of the Washington Stealth, who leads the division at three wins and one loss.

The Roughnecks next play Sunday in Philadelphia, with their next home game being February 9 against the Rush.
