Evans' homecoming highlights NFL signings for Hokies and Hoos

There really is nothing sweeter than a good homecoming.

Former Virginia Tech running back Darren Evans knows this to be true, as today the 2006 Indianapolis Star's Mr. Football agreed to sign with his hometown Colts.

Evans went undrafted following his early departure from Virginia Tech, but appears to be fine with that, as he tweeted, "Never been more proud to be from Indianapolis than I am right now...I'll take the hometown kid title and run wild bc I'm a " from his twitter account, @DTTJEvans, on Tuesday.

Evans is one of eight undrafted Hokies who have agreed to terms with NFL teams according to Mark Giannotto the Washington Post. Others include, tight end Andre Smith (Chicago Bears), defensive end Steven Friday and defensive tackle John Graves (Houston Texans), safety Davon Morgan (New York Jets), center Beau Warren (St. Louis Rams), punter Brian Saunders (Jacksonville Jaguars), and kicker Chris Hazely (Buffalo).

As for Virginia, Norm Wood of the Daily Press has reported long snapper Danny Aiken (Buffalo Bills), defensive end Zane Parr (Houston Texans), and wide receiver Dontrelle Inman (Jacksonville Jaguars) have all reached agreements.
