Evangelion Guitars sell for 17 million Yen

Via ANN: Japanese Eva fans are hardcore! A pair of Eva-themed guitars sold for a total of 17 million yen (over $100,000 US dollars) in a Yahoo! Japan auction. The guitars, a Stratocaster and a Telecaster, were built by the legendary Fender corporation as one-of-a-kind items.

This is yet more proof, as if it was needed, of Eva's continuing hold over the imagination of anime fans! Congratulations to the lucky owners... now let's see the two of you rock out to "Cruel Angel's Thesis" with those beauties!

    This makes me recall a story about Hideki Anno at a convention. A fan came up to him and proudly declared that he'd spent all his textbook money on Eva merchandise. Anno told the man he was an idiot.
