Evangelicals and Catholics- Me and my RC in Denver (Video)

Catholic Media is the history of evangelism through arts, liturgy, music, journalism, books and publishing, and now the digital platform integrates TV, radio, events and concerts, prayer and praise and to some extent film to a new level. In Denver there are many evangelical organizations, churches and ministries that owe a great gratitude to the presence of the Catholic Church in key neighborhoods, including East Colfax and Pennsylvania. Last week DEE was invited to begin a dialog with media and syndicate to media at the Roman Catholic Church. The new contributors have a web media group that has everything from Blogs to Web-TV. I syndicate my Five Point Columns among them and the world wide reach is phenomenal.

This is not a fancy site but the content is very strong. The stance for evangelism, special needs and disabled people and other outreach, a knowledge of technology, media and arts that feed a hungry culture, prayer and community building is stunning. The attention and time that is spent on discussion and workshops is the stuff that great evangelicalism is build on. In short, it is a solid rock of new media poised for evangelism. This week in Dayton we are scheduled to meet with Stephen, a man who has taken the baton of a newsletter founded in 1933 and is running with it:

"I meet virtually or in person to talk about the Catholic Worker Movement, homelessness and 12 Step recovery (applied Catholicism) from addictions. The lecture covers St. Thomas Aquinas' definition of addiction, Dante's Inferno, the 12 step spiritual discipline, seven deadly sins, seven virtues to be practiced, St. John of the Cross' process of reconciliation, prayer, mystical contemplation, the works of mercy, beatitudes and Jesus example. The lecture is titled: “There Ain't No Resurrection Without that Walk up Calvary,” says Stephen on his Blog. http://catholic-itv.ning.com/profile/RichardBeattie.

It is intriguing to see how the social gospel in their approach begins to mirror the evangelical movement and as you might think, "The gospel of Jesus Christ and found in the New Testament out loves any social gospel we can come up with."

Meanwhile in Denver

At Five Points of evangelism, special needs ministry, media that feeds a hungry culture, prayer points in planning and community building, we start to connect the streets and the roads we travel. Suddenly Dayton is not so far away, and the mind and the heart renew during a difficult time for Catholics. It is a time where evangelicals come alongside in message, mission and media.
