Evangel Cathedral will hold its annual musical production "Christmas Celebration", December 3-18. The show includes a cast of more than 200, live animals, pyrotechnics, gospel artists and much more.
The show features award-winning artists BeBe Winans, CeCe Winans, Donnie McClurkin,Marvin Sapp, Fred Hammond, Tye Tribbett and Beverly Crawford. This will be Crawford’s first appearance in "Christmas Celebration." Vickie Winans was recently added to the cast and will appear on Dec 3 and 4 only.
Presented by the Multimedia and Arts Center, the show is billed as “The most spectacular Broadway-style musical production in the Washington, DC, Maryland, Virgina, Pennsylvania, Delaware metroplex.” The show has certainly lived up to that description as people from around the country travel to see the show each year.
Elder Kevin Matthews and his co-executive producer Bishop Don Meares, who leads the church, have been doing stage plays for many years at Evangel Cathedral. In an interview with GME earlier this year Elder Matthews said, "You have to have a passion for it. It does take time, but it’s a good way to evangelize and bring people in who would not normally come to church.”
Tickets are $65. Children ages 4-12 are $55. For groups of 25 or more, tickets are $60 per person. Exclusive ($85) and VIP ($75) tickets are also available.
