Evan Peters' Quicksilver replaces Juggernaut in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

According to Yahoo Movies on Friday, when Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past" made its debut, it wasn't going to initially use the Quicksilver character as currently played by "American Horror Story's" Evan Peters. Peters took part in the two-minute scene where he does what he does best as an incredible display of slow motion similar that to of the fight scenes in "The Matrix." It was quite an audience favorite.

This was a scene that was just added in at the last minute and previous script drafts did not even include the Quicksilver character. In fact, it was the Juggernaut that was suppose to be written into that scene. The Pentagon break-out was suppose to include the other Marvel character in action just busting through walls.

It may be thought that the crew working on the film thought this was a little too obvious and perhaps using speed instead of brute power would prove to be a bit more creative. According to screenwriter Simon Kinberg, he actually felt that they've already overdone the visual effects for the Juggernaut already in previous films.

"He felt like we had sort of exhausted, visually, Juggernaut’s powers in [X-Men: The Last Stand], and so he wanted a new character, a new kind of visual power, that we could explore."

Adding the song "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce was also a nice touch considering the time period that was the result of Logan/Wolverine's destination. The attire of said locale was also reminiscent of the period, lava lamps included.

Editor John Ottman described that the kitchen scene was "way, way late in the game" and it was laid out in a slow fashion in a "previsualization process" and every slow-motion effect and nuance was shot in the very last couple of days. Kinberg explained how Singer wanted it all to play out in the course of slow motion photography. It took a highly collaborative effort in providing a seamless, visual texture that hopefully would play out in the final product. The results were beyond satisfactory to the general audience.
