On Thursday, at a special screening of “American Horror Story’s” second season finale, creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy confirmed that Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson would be returning for the show’s third season.
TVLine reported the news that the two actors would be joining Jessica Lange, whose return was previously announced when the show was renewed by FX. While Murphy still has not revealed much about the upcoming season, according to TVLine, he said, “I know who she’s playing,” referring to Paulson, “She does not.”
Murphy also told reporters that Season 3 will take place in modern day, but just like past seasons, there will be different time periods and cities explored as well. Murphy is also looking to bring humor back to the show and referenced Lange’s character Constance from the first season as an example.
According to TVLine, Murphy also plans to bring back more people from Season 1 as well as new cast members. He added that he was looking to “cast actors Jessica wanted to work with.”
“American Horror Story: Asylum” airs its season finale on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 9 p.m. CST on FX.
