EV news: where to get a test drive of new Nissan LEAF zero-emission car

2010 Nissan LEAF all-electric EV compact car
Nissan

The Nissan LEAF zero-emission, all-electric car is going on a 22-city North America tour beginning in November, a year before the car is actually available in dealer showrooms. Test drives will be available, so my advice is to sign up now at the special Nissan website.

The tour is going on the road to eleven U. S. states and to British Columbia, Canada, and is a brilliant marketing scheme, not that Nissan needs it.  This great little energy-efficient car is still one year away and Nissan received more than 22,000 serious inquiries for this five-passenger, five-door emission free, gas free vehicle in the first few weeks after it announced the car, in August.  Interest is so strong that Nissan decided to start taking firm orders in spring 2010.

So it makes sense that Nissan wants to show off the LEAF to interested customers.  Since the LEAF is not yet in production, my always reliable source at Nissan tells me that test drives will be on a prototype Nissan Versa retrofitted with the plug-in all-electric lithium ion batteries. Southern California

The road show begins in Los Angeles on Nov. 13, just three weeks before the important 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show opens.

don"t ever forget about the 300 billion 300Billion not million we spend on fouron oil a year and nobody talks about that. thats more money going out than in!!!!!!!!!

    You are so right, Joe.

Most electricity produced in the USA is from domestic sources, plus Canadian hydro, so more electric cars would help reduce both the cost and our dependence on foreign oil.
