The Year 2013 was a great year for Eurostar, the high speed train service provider reached to a new milestone in 30th December 13, and crossed the threshold of serving 10 million passengers during one calendar year connecting Brussels and Paris to London. It is near to its 20th anniversary with train to Nice, London, Brussels and many other destinations; it has served to a total of 140 million passengers.
Since the inception, 14 November 1994, the company seen a steady growth in the number of passengers and it reached to 9.911 million in the year 2012.
To achieve this record, Eurostar points to numerous evens focusing international attention on the British Capital in the year 2013, such as the David Bowie exhibit at the Victoria & Albert museum, the birth of the royal baby, and the Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary concerts in Hyde Park.
Creation of new Eurostar Destinations routes, and Europeans as well as the international tourists to Europe, made the upward trend in the counting of visitors. The rail operator tested its new link between London and the south of France this summer, and will become permanent from the year 2015.
