San Diego police are seeking the estranged husband of the young woman found murdered on the campus of San Diego City College.
Police are searching for Armando Gabriel Perez, 37, a "person of interest," in the case, police tell reporters.
Perez and Diana Gonzalez of National City were married less than a year and he was the subject of a restraining order after allegedly holding her captive last month, SDPD Capt. Jim Collins said. Gonzalez had a son, 9 months old.
Perez, last known to have stayed in Logan Heights and Chula Vista, has at least one relative in the Tijuana area and may have crossed the border, police said.
Positive identification of Gonzalez will not come until a fingerprint match is made because of the nature of her wounds. But authorities believe Gonzalez is the person found dead on the campus in a men's room Tuesday night, based on clothing and general physical appearance.
Perez was jailed for four days after the reported kidnapping. Prosecutors declined to file charges in the case.
A Latino, Perez is described as 5-feet, 9-inches tall, about 165 pounds, and drives a blue 1999 Ford Mustang with California plates. The license number: 6GKA572.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.

I was in the girls class. The guy used to walk in the class and act like a student. He used to sit right next to her, but they never talked to each other. The guy went to every single class except for the last 2 before the murder. The days the guy stopped going there was a black guy always waiting until she came out. The day of the murder i left the class early. I left at 9. The black guy was again waiting for her, and the mexican guy was around a tree. I suspected he was also waiting for the girl. As i used to think they were boyfreind and girlfreind. question is, who is the black guy. and what happened to him the day of the murder? The black guy was for sure waiting for her after class as every other day.
I hope that you've been able to speak with the police. It sounds like you have a lot of useful information. The black guy was probably either a co-hort of the ex, or somebody the girl needed for protection. Sounds like she was being consistently stalked even though she had a restraining order(?) Very tragic.
Hopefully this makes the news in Tijuana and any surrounding cities. Hopefully they get the guy. My prayers are with the victims family.

So tragic. I feel so sad after reading this. What an awful predator. I hope the police find him.
I hope you speak with the police and give them information you witnessed in class.
