Esther Schmucker, star of”Amish Mafia” must have forgotten that she was driving a car and not a horse and buggy. The “Amish Mafia” star allegedly caused a three-car crash on June 11, 2014, because she was distracted.

According to Lancaster Online, police say that the accident happened in the 1300 block of Harrisburg Pike, by R.R. Donnelly. Esther’s car struck another car. The impact sent that vehicle into the back of another vehicle driven by a 59-year-old woman. This woman sustained injuries from the accident and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Esther told police that she wasn’t paying attention to the road. Esther was charged with summary careless driving due to her being distracted while operating a motor vehicle.

Esther has two choices. If she pleads not-guilty, she will have to dispute the charges in district court. If she pleads guilty to the charges, then she will have to pay a fine. No word on her decision at the time of this article.

All three vehicles involved in the accident were towed.

Esther plays herself on “Amish Mafia.” Her real life brother, John, who also plays her brother on the show, was sentenced to three months in jail, and a $1,000 fine, for driving without a license in February. This is John’s tenth offence since December 2013.
