Estes Park, Colorado, is the beautiful, tranquil backdrop for the annual Colorado Christian Writers Conference (CCWC). This conference is for any Christian writer looking to learn more about the industry, craft and themselves as a writer.
Should you have the inclination to write in any facet and at any level, and you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior, this is an opportunity you should explore.
CCWC takes place May 16th through the 19th, 2012 at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park. The faculty are a diverse group from all parts of the country. Various keynote speakers, including Dr. Ted Baehr (chairman of The Christian Film & Television Commission™ - www.movieguide.org), Craig von Buseck (director of Ministries at CBN.com - www.vonbuseck.com), Dan Wooding (founder and chief editor of ASSIST News Service - www.ASSISTNews.net), Lissa Halls Johnson (Author - www.lissahallsjohnson.com), and Tim Shoemaker (Author and Speaker - www.timshoemakersmashedtomatoes.com), are scheduled for the general sessions.
Marlene Bagnull has been the director of the CCWC since 1997. She encourages Christian writers to "write His answer" for a world in need of knowing the God we serve. This year, writers attending CCWC will be challenged to "Write to be whole."
CCWC not only equips writers in all genres and at all levels with the skills needed to be effective. It also is a time of fellowship and networking with fellow writers. There are also fellow Christians in different careers related to the published word - from editors to devotion writers, publishers to teen writers learning more about the craft.
Yes, you read that correctly! There will be a "Teens Write!" session on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., lead by Caleb and Brittney Breakey. See writehisanswer.com/Colorado for more information.
Registrants may take part in the clinics, workshops, and general sessions. Wednesday, May 16th, there are Early bird workshops. There are limited 15-minute appointments and paid critiques (manuscripts must be submitted by April 21, 2012) also available for writers who wish to get feed-back on their work, meet with editors and publishers, or possibly meet their future agent. More information and forms may be found at writehisanswer.com/Colorado.
