On this day in 2000, Bret Hitman Hart announced his retirement from professional wrestling. Bret was with WCW at the time and did not wrestle another match until Wrestle Mania 26 in 2010 when he defeated Vince McMahon. Also on this day in 2007, Brock Lesnar announced (while sitting front row at an UFC event) he had signed with UFC. Lesnar’s announcement came after he had left the WWE in 2004 following Wrestle Mania 20 and his failed attempt to play in the NFL as a member of the Minnesota Vikings.
