This weeks edition of Friday Night Fight's on ESPN looks excellent on paper. Top New England prospect Edwin Rodriguez (13-0, 9 KO's) makes his national TV debut against tough veteran George Armenta (13-5, 11 KO's) in a super middleweight tilt and junior middleweights Deandre Latimore (20-2, 16 KO's) and Sechew Powell (25-2, 15 KO's) square off in a title elimination rematch of their exciting encounter in JUne 2008.

Of course, we'll get commentator Teddy Atlas' thoughts on the Manny Pacquiao - Joshua Clottey welterweight title fight that weekend and the chatter will once again commence about a possible Pacquiao - Floyd Mayweather showdown at some point down the line and the negotiations for drug testing protocol prior to the bout.

Atlas famously spoke of an unnamed source who he said saw emails from the Pacquiao camp discussing what would happen in the event Pacman failed a drug test prior to a fight with Mayweather. Those comments from Atlas accrued substantial interest among boxing fans in online forums and here on The Examiner.

In Latimore - Powell, we know what we're getting into this time. The first time they fought, Latimore was thought to be a soft touch for Powell on Sechew's way to a title show. An upset TKO for Latimore proved Powell's handlers wrong and spirits should be good for this weeks fight.

If Teddy Atlas and Tim Smith can not come out with the e-mail that they said they saw...the only reason why they made up the story was to stain Manny Pacquiao's reputation. That is a big no-no in the field of journalism, too bad that there are still some people that would make bad comments towards somebody without any solid source or evidence. It is just unethical and therefore unacceptable to everybody.

Manny Pacquiao stands alone on top of the boxing world. Floyd gave up his pound for pound title when he retired. Manny Pacquaio deservedly took the pound for pound crown Mayweather left behind because Mayweather retired, and when one retires you can't take the crown with you. Those are the rules. Several months ago Mayweather sensing that a new and brighter star was threatening to erase everyones memory of him hurried his way back in the boxing scene. By all means Floynalduckie Mayweather welcome back. Talking about the word back, If you want that crown back then shot your odorfull mouth and fight Manny Pacquaio in the ring because that is the only, I mean the only way to get it back.

In the first place, why would Pacquiao submit to Mayweather's rules on testing? There's a proper body that oversees testing. Is it right for Mayweather to bypass and overrule the proper governing body that set rules in boxing? Is America back to the Wild West where Law is optional? Teddy Atlas is dumb caused by his broken jaw that sucked some of the grey matter from between his ears!
If Gayweather really wants the pound for pound recognition then he must fight in the ring. But the way things are going, he wants to use his mouth instead of his fists hahaha what a shame...

I think Mayweather has ducked Pacquiao already by having a REMATCH CLAUSE in his contract on his fight against Mosley. Win or lose he'll do a rematch with Mosley just to prolong the fans' request for him to fight Pacquiao. It's stupid if he goes on again with his random drug testing demands. I remember reading an article from a reporter in which the reporter asked Floyd, WHY NOW? Why not then when he fought Marquez, or when he fought Dela Hoya? Why didn't he demand the unusual drug tests then? Why now with Pacquiao? And Floyd couldn't give the reporter a direct answer. I believe Floyd had the rematch clause with Mosley because he doesn't want to fight Pacquiao. Because hey admit it, Pacquiao has the real chance of beating him! If Mayweather loses to Pacquiao, he'll lose all his pride and bragging habits. HE CAN NO LONGER SAY HE IS THE BEST. And that is what is scaring the arrogant Big Mouth Mayweather. AND BY THE WAY, SCREW TEDDY ATLAS!
