Two screens from the ESPN Fantasy Football app.
ESPN Fantasy Football is an app for the iPhone and iPod touch that is currently inside the top 25 paid downloads list on iTunes. It is the second fantasy football app ESPN has put out this season, the other, being ESPN Fantasy Football 2009 Draft Kit. Much like the other app, ESPN Fantasy Football is a waste and a complete rip off.
ESPN Fantasy Football allows you to manage your ESPN fantasy football teams on the go from your iPhone or iPod Touch. It has all the features you could hope for and truly does work decently for the most part. There are some crashes but crashes are a part of app using. But the actual content of the app is not the reason I say it is a rip off. The reason this app is so terrible is it costs $4.99. They also make you think that this is the only way to manage your teams on the iPhone. This is a lie. You can do it from safari for free. So why would you pay $5 for an app that you can use for free on safari?
ESPN should be ashamed of themselves for the ESPN Fantasy Football app. If it were to become free I could understand it being released but to charge people $5 for something you can get for free is just atrocious. Not only that, by browsing on safari, you get the exact same experience you’d get if you were on a PC. Unless you see this app go on sale for free, under no circumstances should you download ESPN Fantasy Football.
