Astros new president and CEO George Postolos and general manager Jeff Luhnow have reportedly interviewed ESPN.com senior baseball writer Keith Law for a number of front-office roles.
Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports reported the story Thursday, stating that Law interviewed for the job of scouting director.
Postolos and Luhnow reportedly met with Law last week.
A source close to the situation told Examiner.com Thursday that Law hasn't received a job offer from the Astros and any speculation regarding the matter remains "premature" at this point.
Law, 38, was formerly a writer for Baseball Prospectus prior to working in the front office for the Toronto Blue Jays from 2002-06.
He served as a scout for Toronto and assisted in contract negotiations, as well as with the team's marketing and sales staffs.
Law reached the position of "special assistant to the general manager" with Toronto before resigning in 2006 to take a job at ESPN.
During his current tenure with ESPN, Law has built a stellar reputation as arguably the top MLB writer on scouting-related content.
