One may look at the records of the Calgary Stampeders (6-2) and the Edmonton Eskimos (1-7) and think that Monday's Labour Day Classic showdown in the Canadian Football League would be a complete blowout.
However, in the last month, the Eskimos have not played all that poorly and are better than their record shows. Unlike their one win sister from the east, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the Eskimos have deserved to win many more games this season.
In the last month, the Eskimos have lost four games by a total of 12 points and have been in every single game until the dying seconds.
There is no question the Eskimos are rebuilding, but unlike last season, it has been their defense that has been their weakness as their offense is making significant positive strides.
The Stampeders cannot take the Eskimos lightly on Monday, or they will only be the second team this season to lose to the Eskimos.
