Escape the city heat go to the beach at bargain bottom prices

If I am going to be hot, I 'd rather be at he beach.

No matter where you reside in this big beautiful nation, summer is here. Just the word summer conjures up memories in your mind of the days when you could hardly wait for school to be out, vacations to start and to be foot loose and fancy free. "Summertime fun.. here we come " was the motto.

OK, you know what I am talking about, the sun is hot, the wind is low and warm. Wet, cool, blue water sounds enticing. Picnics, ice cream, swimming, flip flops and a comfortable lawn chair lounging with a cool drink. If you live in Phoenix the weather is hot, the concrete in the city is absorbing the days heat holding it in the sidewalks. It seems nearly impossible to get away from the city heat.

Globally, if you are south of the equator winter is here and you are probably looking for summer, so this will lead you to the heat.... but for those north of the equator, school is out, and mid summer heat is in full swing.

So what are you doing to enjoy the summer? Money may be tight but there are still many ways to make those summertime memories at bargain prices.

If I am going to be hot I'd rather be at the beach.

Yes, if you are going to be in the heat might as well enjoy it in an air conditioned ocean front condominium with blue waters and blue pools in every direction you look. Plenty of lounge chairs, picnics, tacos and memories to be made. Here are 4 ways to beat the heat at the beach and cool off cheaply at bargain bottom prices:

 1. Try finding a great deal at VRBO-

This vacation rental website offers  vacation rentals by owners all over the world and usually a lot less than resorts.

Click on here for an example of a 2 bedroom/2 bath with ocean view in Rocky Point, 18 hole professional putting course( free) 3 pools and walk to beach directly in front of property. $99 a night on VRBO

2. Castaways Reservation office has specials at ocean front condo's in Puerto Penasco ( call 2 weeks out get 10% discount off stay) ( Call within 7 days get 15% discount off normal rates ) Go to Castaways.com. Picture yourself sitting at cool pool bar or on a lawn chair in the sand under an umbrella while kids build sand castles.

With only a short 3.5 to 4 hours drive to get to the beach leave one morning and spend the night and drive back the next if you only have  a night or two.

3. Check out www.craigslist.com for owners renting out beach front condo's and houses under $100 a night in Rocky Point. Get a great deal and less than 4 hours you are sitting at the beautiful Sea of Cortez. If you search by Rocky Point or Puerto Penasco you can find some pretty good deals.

4. If you are more interesting in flying and not driving but still desire to visit the beach in Mexico here is the top deal of the week I found for Mexico on kayak.com

Starting at $259 per person for 3 nights / 4 days at an all inclusive resort in Playa Del Carmen including air. Yes, that means all your food, drinks, room and air for $259 a person..hard to beat...can you even fly anywhere for $259?

click here for the skinny on this deal:

Being from the East Coast, summertime meant driving to the beaches in Maryland and New Jersey every weekend you could get away. Fill up the car with gas and head to the beach. Yes, it was hot and lots of waiting in east coast weekend traffic going down to the beach, but it was worth it. Back then the drive was 6 hours and the humidity was double but as I said before

"If I am going to be hot, I would still rather be at the beach!  "
