Los Angeles based yogis are invited to make the well-worth drive up to the Symbiosis Gathering 2013, taking place at the Woodward Reservoir Regional Park in Northern California on September 19th to 23rd, 2013. The five-day camping festival coincides with the Harvest Full Moon Autumnal Equinox and the International Day of Peace that takes place on breathtaking peninsula surrounded by a crystal clear swimming lake.
Yoga will be led by yoga teachers that specialize in classical lineages each morning in a 80' Mandala Dome. Classes will begin with Puja (a Hindu, yogic ritual, prayer) and an offering to Ganesh by Veeru Triphathi, (an initiated priest from Varanasi, India). Triphathi will offer a perspective on yoga that is not asana based as he works in astrology, breath work, meditation and philosophy, and this Puja will cleanse the space (energetically speaking) for everyone to practice.
In addition to yoga backdropped by natural beauty, the event features a massive lineup over four main stages playing a diverse array of musical performances. Other event highlights include a diverse array of dance classes, transformational workshops, world-renowned visual/large-scale art installations, the Edwardian Ball Roadshow, green living and gourmet organic food.
“The foundation of this event is built around principles of ecological, global and holistic awareness,” noted Karen KoChen of Symbiosis Events. “Our team has brought together an eclectic program to bring these concepts to life in an interactive, co-creative and highly innovative way.
