August 13, 2011 – Actors Esai Morales (La Bamba, Caprica) and Judy Reyes (Scrubs) will participate in a Q & A tonight (Saturday Aug 13) at Laemmle Sunset 5 (West Hollywood) about their new movie Gun Hill Road, playing now also at the Laemmle Pasadena 7.
Gun Hill Road is the story of a family working desperately to adapt to a son’s sexual exploration and discovery. The sounds and accents surrounding a Nuyorican family (including a bit of Salsa dancing by all major characters) are mixed in with the cruel realities of street violence and intolerance.
Harmony Santana plays the part of Michael, the 17 year old in self-discovery. The Salsa community may also recognize a singer out of the Fania tribute band “Our Latin Thing,” Flaco Navaja, who participates in the film as Danny.
The Q & A with Esai Morales and Judy Reyes will happen today after the 8 pm show at Sunset 5. Tickets can be purchased here. The film is R due to graphic violent scenes and strong sexual material. The movie theater is located at 8000 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA.
Esai Morales will also participate on a Q & A at the same location tomorrow Sunday after the 8 pm show.
