Erin McKeown "Proof" video, Easthampton's Flywheel mini-doc debut (Photos)

Northampton, MA troubadour, Erin McKeown, is known for her impeccable songwriting and unconventional approach to recording and marketing herself. She's recorded three episodic records titled Cabin Fever, in the river (yes, you heard that correctly, in the river) that runs behind her backyard and has self-financed her music long before the advent of Kickstarter. McKeown's proudly label-less and releases her latest record today, Manifestra. Here's the video for the first single, "Proof." Enjoy it!

The Easthampton, MA arts collective, Flywheel, received some well-deserved attention this week with the release of a mini-documentary, All Ages: A Flywheel Story, chronicling its 14 year history. The video produced by Josh Landes and Olivia Smith features Flywheel founder, Cindy Bow, recalling the early years of the collective at its original location on Holyoke Street, through its current incarnation at Old Town Hall, and recollections from past and current members. It's a wonderful tribute to an alternative space that's been partly responsible for the Easthampton arts renaissance.
