Erin Andrews has signed on to "Dancing with the Stars" to replace former co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet. On Feb. 23, MSN confirmed that the "DWTS" alum will be joining Tom Bergeron for season 18 which begins on March 17. Andrews, a sportscaster, danced with Maksim Chmerkovskiy during season 10 but her role in the ballroom this time around will be quite different.

It is unclear why producers felt the need to shake things up or why Brooke Burke was "fired" but the addition of Andrews is also being questioned. Not a lot of people think that she's going to do the job justice.

Erin Andrews currently works for FOX Sports and that will be her priority as she takes on her new role. Each Monday night she will work alongside Tom Bergeron, assisting him in the night's announcements and interviewing the "stars" who will try and become ballroom dancers in a matter of weeks. It's not that much different from interviewing athletes on the field -- but Andrews will have to pump up the charisma, to say the least.

As previously reported, Brooke Burke-Charvet was fired unexpectedly last week. The news came as a shock to her fans and also to her -- as she revealed the show's decision candidly on Twitter.

Is Erin Andrews a good fit for "Dancing with the Stars"? Are you surprised that she is replacing Brooke Burke-Charvet?
