A benefit for cancer survivor and Wauconda Police Officer Eric Schultz, will take place Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Sideouts Bar & Eatery, 4018 Roberts Road, Island Lake, Illinois.
Schultz is currently in hospital battling his fifth round of cancer. Sources tell Metro News Chicago, “Eric is in very good spirits and expresses his thanks to everyone who has been by his side throughout his ordeal.”
There will be a silent auction, raffles and t-shirt sales at the weekend fundraiser. “My husband is a Wauconda Police officer. Eric and my husband were partners so this is personal. He's a good friend of ours and that's why we organized this benefit,” said Kim Jacobson of Sideline Marketing, Ltd. Jacobson has spent countless hours of her own time coordinating and planning Eric's benefit.
The event organizers originally planned to have Chicago Bears Defensive Tackle, Nate Collins attend the benefit. Unfortunately, Collins was sidelined due to an injury during a recent football game. “I wish Eric and his family the very best and hope the benefit is a huge success,” said Collins.
