Eric Himan on his Supposed Summer Tour and new music video

Eric Himan is by no means a new artist, but he may have been withheld from your musical ears. Perhaps you have heard him before and do not even know it. His track “No Urgency” was featured on the HRC’s 2005 album Love Rocks, alongside Cyndi Lauper, Christina Aguilera, P!nk and Dixie Chicks.

OUT Magazine called the performer a mesh of lesbian energy and American folk back in 2004; “With his confessional lyrics, aggressive guitar strum, and braying voice, this twenty-five year-old multi-instrumentalist actually sounds like a punk-folk dyke”. Writer Barry Walters said this in response to Himan’s confession that his love for Melissa Etheridge and Ani DiFranco fueled him. “The people I looked up to…[are] lesbians who told it as it was, and made no apologies.”

Now Eric (after years of great music and establishing himself as an artist to watch) has released his seventh studio album, Supposed Unknown. The Supposed Tour stopped by DC not long ago, making a stop at Solly’s Tavern on U street, perhaps you caught him there.

If not, there is still a chance to catch him on his tour when he stops in Iowa, Illinois, Pennsylvania and New York. [[Check his site for all ticket information.]]

Make sure to watch the new music video for the single “Dust” and read more about the out-tattooed crooner below.
