Typically this time of year is hard for scare lovers as they wait for the first announcements about what their favorite area haunted attractions will be bringing for them in the fall but Michigan scare enthusiasts will have a special treat this July when Erebus Haunted House opens its doors for three nights for a blackout event called Summer Scream.

The Pontiac haunt will host the total darkness event on July 11th, 12th and 13th. With only a glow stick to light the way, guests will be set free to fumble their way through the massive venue while the monsters and demons come from every direction.

Erebus has consistently been voted one of the best haunts in the country and up until 2009 it held the record for the world's longest haunt. The haunt boasts four floors of mayhem filled with state of the art special effects and hollywood quality makeup.

Tickets for the special event can be purchased at Tickets are $28 or $45 for a VIP ticket that includes no waiting in line and a separate VIP entrance.

There are also group sales discounts.
