October 29th through 31st the Virginia Equine Extravaganza will be held at The Meadow Event Park in Doswell, VA. It will be three days of all things equine. There will be demonstrations on dressage, eventing, jumping, western pleasure, gaited horses, general training, and driving, as well as clinics, seminars, kid's activities, and shopping from the best vendors the horse industry has to offer.
This year the trainer challenge will be women only. Karen Scholl, Caroline Rider, and Tara Jones will each have an unstarted colt, and an hour training session each of the three days, with a final obstacle course following the third session. The horses will be provided by Virginia Sport Horses. The prizes will be provided by Mountain Feather Originals (a special gift designed by Denise Banta) and Circle Y Saddles (a new saddle specifically designed for women).
The Equine Extravaganza will be launching their Canine Extravaganza, Big Doggie Doo. Dog lovers will find plenty to see and do with loads of canine vendors and seminars on dog issues. Demonstration and seminar topics will include; choosing the right breed for your family, puppy starting, basic training, nutrition for dogs, dog showing, competitive activities, canine health, and training tips for annoying habits.
Other highlights include Gracie the trick mule, cowboy cook-off, mechanical cutting horse and cow, breed demos and stallion showcase, and much more. For more information, ticket purchases, and directions from Chesapeake, be sure to visit the Equine Extravaganza's website.
