Midwestern horse lovers choose from high-speed fun and game shows, breed events, equestrian open houses, trail rides, and other exciting happenings for the final weekend of September.
Equestrian events continue from Thursday, September 27, through Sunday, September 29.
As always, participants and spectators are advised to call horse show and event venues ahead to confirm times and other details. Last-minute changes and cancellations may occur.

The Shawnee Trail Ride traces challenging routes at New Hope Hill Horse Camp, in Herod, Illinois, from September 26 through 29.
In La Farge, Wisconsin, the 10th Annual Fall Trail Ride explores the Kickapoo Valley Reserve from September 27 to 29.
The Upper Midwest Buckskin Horse Association holds a show on September 28 and 29 at the Jackson County Fair Park, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
Also on September 28 and 29, the Wisconsin Ranch Horse Association competes at Showtime Arena, in Deerfield, Wisconsin.
The Eau Claire Bit & Spur Club presents a Western Saddle Club Association Game Show in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on September 28.
In Curtiss, Wisconsin, the Black River Riders offer a September 28 BRR Fun Show.
At John Miles County Park, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, the Door County 4-H Horse and Pony Project runs a Fall Fun Show on September 28.
Sunflower Farms hosts an IDCTA Schooling Show on September 28, in Bristol, Wisconsin, sanctioned by the Illinois Dressage and Combined Training Association.
Also on September 28, Monte Cristo Equestrian Center celebrates its Grand Opening in Maple Park, Illinois.
The Northern Kettle Moraine Horse Trail Association’s Poker Ride with Obstacle Course and BBQ is slated for September 28 at the New Prospect Horseriders Campround near Campbellsport, Wisconsin.
In Spring Green, Wisconsin, Endless Valley Stables closes its 2013 season with an Open Horse Show on September 28.
On September 29, the Badger Horse Show Association presents a Game Show at the Waushara County Fairgrounds, in Wautoma, Wisconsin.
Stepping Stone Farms presents its 7th Annual Fall Fund-Raiser and Open House in Franksville, Wisconsin, on September 29.
In East Troy, Wisconsin, West 20 Ranch and Saddle Company concludes its 6th Annual All Breed Gaited Horse Show Series with a September 29 event.
