Equal Pay Day event at the State House

Join the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women, Senator Patricia Jehlen, and Representative Alice Wolf for an Equal Pay Day event, April 15, 11:00 a.m., at the State House, Room 222.

Former Lt. Governor Evelyn Murphy (1987-1991, the Commonwealth's first female Lt. Governor) will be the keynote speaker, discussing the Comparable Work bill and why it is critical to our economy to close the wage gap. The event is free and open to the public.

Sponsored by Senator Jehlen and Rep. Wolf, S689 "An Act Further Defining Comparable Work" defines comparable work as "solely based on whether the two positions entail comparable skill, effort, responsibility, and working conditions between employees of the opposite sex."
