Kyakers race to finish at the 2010 Eppies Great Race

A record number 2,092 people attended the 37th annual Eppies Great Race in Sacramento yesterday.  Despite the hot temperature, smiles abound as athletes completed the popular triathlon.  The race has a 5.82 mile run, 12.5 mile of cycling, and 6.35 miles of Kayaking.  The course is completed along the American River between William Pond Park and Sunrise Blvd. 

The Men's Ironman Division was won by Vic Vicari, 51 from Sacramento in 1 hour, 44 minutes, 24 seconds.

The Women's Ironman Division was won by Nicole Young, 39 of Cameron Park in 2 hours, 2 minutes, 30 seconds.

The fifth annual Kaiser Permanente Kids Duathlon Race was also part of Eppies Great Race,  The Duathlon included a two mile run, and a 5.75 cycling segment.  The Iron Kid Male Division was won by Brynn Sargent, 15, in 27 minutes, 44 seconds, and the female division was won by Melissa Seaman, 12, in 32 minutes, 19 seconds.
