It’s sunny. It’s warm. It’s still mountain biking and hiking weather. Skiing? That’s still months away. You know, when there’s snow on the ground, the days are shorter and you need to wear a few more layers before stepping outside.
But what’s right around the corner is the deadline for securing your season pass for the 2014-2015 ski season, especially if your skiing pass comes in the Epic Pass variety. Earlier in the week Vail Resorts shared the news that its Epic Pass would be available at the lowest guaranteed rate until September 1.
So while Labor Day often means BBQs and one last summer hurrah, this year it also means securing that ski pass you’ve put off buying until the last possible minute. Because that last possible minute is now—at least if you want to avoid paying more than had you purchased early. That’s not to say that you can’t buy your season pass when you’re thinking more about skiing and less about biking. Vail’s Epic Pass will still be available for purchase after September 1, but you could find yourself paying more for the primo skiing the pass offers.
