Tim Tebow
Tim Tebow's eye black reads Ephesians 2: 8-10. "For by grace are ye saved through faith..." It's no surprise that Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow would play the Sugar Bowl with a Bible verse written under his eyes. He's been known to wear a different Bible verse at every game. Tebow's Bible verses are so expected now, that during and after every game, Google and Twitter light up and go viral.
Tebow's Bible Verses get the Google Juice
A devout born again Christian, Tim Tebow uses choice Bible verses as his way of spreading the word of God. Judging by the number of Google hits and Twitter juice he receives, he certainly does get plenty of attention. According to Nola.com, "Tebow’s choice for last season’s BCS championship game against Oklahoma, John 3:16, drew a reported 93 million Google hits that day."
Anyone that knows their Bible verses might be intimidated by Tebow's Christian tactics. Although Tim Tebow is a big, hulk of a quarterback that can plow through any football team, he's also a gentle man. The Bible verse under his eyes one game read, Psalm 23:1, which is "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." And how could any opposing team member get mad at a quarterback that has Ephesians 4:32 written under his eyes? "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you."
The New International Version (NIV)
The New International Version (NIV) of Ephesians 2: 8-10 says, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
The King James Version (KJV)
The King James Version (KJV) of Ephesians 2 8 10 reads, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
