Environmentally friendly dog parks in Denver

A Denver based company called Poo Free Parks has introduced a new idea for dog friendly parks.

 What it is

A privately owned company founded by Bill Airy, Poo Free Parks provides an environmentally responsible way to dispose of dog waste.  It does this by using recyclable equipment that provides biodegradable bags for disposal.

The company currently works with the city and county of Denver.  Bill Airy says, “We look forward to bringing our service to the residents of Westminster and expanding the reach of our program throughout the Metro Area.”

 What it does

At no cost to taxpayers, the company installs 100% recyclable waste bag dispensers. The dispensers are filled with bags that biodegrade  in about 18 months.  Powered by hybrid cars, Poo Free Parks maintains and fills the dispenser on a regular basis.

The idea is that the biodegradable bags will prevent contamination of park and water resources in Denver.  The company’s services are funded through private businesses and communities.

I don't own a dog, but it makes sense to me that if dog owners have these bags available to them, then I should have to worry less about stepping in it. Thanks

About time someone fixed the dog waste problems! I like that they use biodegradable bags.

I have been seeing these dispensers around my home in Cenntenial, CO and they have come in very handy. At first, I brought my own bags, but now I don't have to worry about it. Also, I like that they are biodegradable.
