Environmental police officer exam

The New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), is giving an exam for Environmental Police Officer. The exam will be held between April 1, 2014 until June 30, 2014. This test is being held every Monday at 5:00 p.m. The fee for the exam is $40.00 in money order, gift, debit or credit card made payable to DCAS. The exam number is 4333.

You can apply online for this test at http://www.nyc.gov/dcas. Look for the link 'work for the city', there you will see the link to apply online for a civil service exam. The exam test locations is Manhattan, 2 Lafayette Street, 17th Floor, NY, NY 10007 and Brooklyn, 210 Joralemon Street, 4th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201.

The current minimum salary is $25,631.00 for the first twenty-six weeks and then $29, 405.00 after the first twenty-six weeks. Salary will increase in increments reaching $44,742.00 after six and half years. By date of appointment, applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent plus either thirty semester college credits or two years full time honorable military service or one year of law enforcement.

An Environmental Police Officer's duties are; patrolling, protecting and securing the city's water supply facilities and watershed areas.
