The Environmental Co-op recently released their list of Kaufman County communities who have recycling stations available to the public. They hope to make community members aware that the recycling drop-off sites “are provided at no cost to citizens through grants from the North Central Texas Council of Governments and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, in conjunction with the cities of Kaufman County.” This four part series will explain where each recycling center is located for your city; today we start with Forney.
Though the City of Forney residents are provided with curbside recycling pick-up, they are currently the only city in Kaufman County who is providing that for their residents. Those who have addresses in Forney but live outside the city limits, as well as those living in surrounding areas, can still recycle thanks to the Environmental Co-op.
Where: Outside the Forney maintenance barn on the corner of FM 741 and 2932.

What recyclables will they accept?: All cans that are rinsed out, labels are ok. All paper products as well as cardboard that have been flattened. They will also accept Plastic bottles #1 and #2. At this time, the Forney location does not accept glass. You can recycle your oil and oil filters at the maintenance barn as long as they are in sealed containers.
