Entry level community assistant opening

The New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) has an entry level position available for a Community Assistant at the Bellevue facility of the Adult Services division. The starting salary is $27,421.00 to $35,573.00 annually. The work location is at 430 East 30th Street, New York, NY 10016, in the Intake and Vacancy Control unit. The job ID number is 150544. As stated above, this is an entry level position. There are no formal or educational experience required, however, candidates must be able to understand and carry out simple instructions and also, understand and be understood in English. Since this is a twenty-four-seven emergency center facility, candidates must be able to be flexible in their work schedule. The work week consists of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Regular days off (RDO) are Wednesday and Thursday.

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Welfare Shelters, some of the duties that you will be required to perform are; general housekeeping duties, stock supplies, unload deliveries and distribute client mail.
