‘The Idea Thief’ is a story about fledgling writer, Joe (Joel Dickerson), actively attempting to pursue his dreams, but every time he thinks up “the next big thing” – Boom, a mysteriously elusive best selling author releases an identical work. All of this while trying to futilely win the heart of his lesbian co-worker, Wendy (Catherine Schulz), support his filmmaker friend Pharaoh (Aki Jamal Durham), who is about to begin production, and keep his other friend, foul mouthed and unhinged Stormy (Tom Figel), from losing it. ‘The Idea Thief’ was originally finished in 2011 and, after submitting to 13 festivals, writer/director Jonathan R. Skocik is releasing it for sale through Amazon.com here. The DVD includes a gag reel, deleted scenes, and a featurette showing the end of shooting. The movie was recently nominated at The 1st Annual Flagler Film Festival where it was very well received by the audience, winning it Best Feature. Skocik personally attended and graciously accepted the award at the event’s closing ceremonies.

He currently has several projects in the works, including a couple of horror movies (one, ‘Dead Girl Walking,’ will likely be his next feature).

Be sure to check out the attached slideshow of images and the movie’s trailer.

Note: ‘The Idea Thief’ is unrated and does contain some foul language, so parental discretion is advised.
