Master Chef Contestant Josh Marks found dead in alleyway, in Chicago, Illinois:
Josh Marks, age 26, was found dead on October 11, 2013, at 6:37 p.m. Marks sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Police investigated his death.
After completing an autopsy on October 12, 2013, Cook County Medical Examiners ruled his death a suicide.
Marks openly suffered from schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder.
Marks is former contestant and finalist on the Fox’s “Master Chef”, a food competition.
Taylor Swift puts her money where her mouth is, $4 million to be exact:
Taylor Swift opened her $4 million music education center, located in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 12, 2013. The center is aptly called The Taylor Swift Center.
Graffiti mecca, in New York, called 5 Points to bedemolished:
Everybody has something they hold dear to them. For the graffiti artists in New York, that something dear is a place called 5 Points. For years, artists have been laying their mark at 5 points. However, the land owner has decided to demolish the property. It has been said that accommodations will be made for low-income housing and artist studios within the complex’s replacement.
Where are the children of New Mexico’s Tierra Blanco Ranch?:
The Tierra Blanca Ranch is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It touts itself as a “high country youth program” that provides “a new beginning for troubled and at-risk youth”. After an incident resulting in the death of an 18-year old, the spotlight was placed on the ranch, including the upstart of a police investigation regarding the care of resident children. Owner Scott Chandler, apparent removed the children from the location. Police put out an Amber Alert on nine children between the ages of 13 and 17. Four of the children have allegedly been returned to their parents.
Police have search warrants for a property that is reportedly empty. Child protective services on call to receive children, with orders of protection in hand. Owners and children are nowhere to be found. What is wrong with this picture?
43rd Annual Atlanta Gay Pride festival now in progress:
Atlanta’s Piedmont Park works were concerned about the damage that was left to the property after the Music Midtown festival activities, mixed in with heavy rains, left several muddy patches on the grounds. Staff worked overtime to get the park ready for Atlanta Gay Pride. The 43rd Annual Gay Pride festivals are now in progress. Folks can’t be happier. The festival is about way more than sexual preference, self expression for all is a key point, along with great food, great comradery and most importantly the great outdoors!
