CEO of modeling agency held in relation to alleged $250,000 scam:
After months of investigations, it was determined that a Hicksville – based modeling agency, New Faces Development Center, Inc. and Model Talent Development Corp., was fraudulent in representing clients. The agency allegedly required clients to make payments to hold promised gigs. Gigs never materialized and monies were never returned.
Reportedly, the agencies had no selective process and signed on anyone that was willing to pay the fees ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars, specifically related to photographic fees.
Several staff members were arrested in September 2013 and an arrest warrant was issued for the company’s CEO, James Muniz, who was on the run.
On October 16, 2014, James Muniz, age 44, was arrested is being held in the Miami-Dade County jail awaiting extradition to New York.
The New Faces Development Center, Inc. has an 'F' rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Gertrude is a company founded by Kenneth Schlenker. The name Gertrude comes from Gertrude Stein, who owned art salons in the 1920s. Her salons became famously known for the discussions held during gatherings. Schlenker hopes to reignite those discussions.
