Entertaining with style: PeaceLoveTea

For centuries, people have been enjoying the comforting goodness and healing powers of tea. Now, right here in Nashville, the traditional tea party is being reinvented with a modern twist. In late 2008, Holley Seals-Lizarraga (a local event planner and visual artist) teamed up with Crystal De Luna-Bogan (a Le Cordon Bleu classically trained chef) to create PeaceLoveTea. The divine catering company specializes in modern tea parties for all ages, providing treats that are just as visually stunning as they are delicious.

I first had the pleasure of meeting Holley at the POSH boutique grand reopening a few weeks ago. It was love at first sip when I sampled an Iced Hibiscus Berry Herbal Tea and I learned that Holley and Crystal were joining Pied Piper Creamery for an “Ice Cream Social and Tea Party”. Held at Pied Piper in East Nashville, the charming old house was an appropriate setting for Holley to beautifully present Crystal’s scrumptious creations. Attendees of the event were warmly greeted by Holley and, when we spoke, I got a real sense of the companies community values and appreciation for tradition. Guests were treated to a sampling of what the perfectly paired duo is offering, each item so fantastic that I can hardly narrow down my favorites but here are just a couple from each menu:

Traditional Menu -

    Strawberry shortcake scones with peach vanilla bean preserves, meyer lemon curd, or strawberry balsamic compote
    Chocolate cheesecake petits fours

Japanese Menu -

    Spicy beef in marinated cucumber cups with a sesame seed garnish
    Mini green tea cupcakes with lime butter cream and a blackberry garnish

Seasonal Menu -

    Heirloom tomato tea sandwich (open face, rounds) on olive crostini with goat cheese, basil sauce, and a sweet balsamic reduction
    Bing cherry english muffin bread with bing cherry jam

Children’s Menu -

    Fruit salad “wands”
    Cheddar potato salad cups

These ladies know how to throw a party and, with an extensive menu of mouth watering treats at the most reasonable rates, PeaceLoveTea is sure to be a hit at your event and at events all over town.
