Enterprise software: is it safe?

A company is only as good as its software; it's the piece that keeps all the cogs moving smoothly. Businesses rely on the help that comes from software and apps and rarely pass up an opportunity to upgrade. Unfortunately, we become so blinded by our excitement to try a new system that we fail to conduct basic security checks.
In a world where the average company outsources 65% of its mission critical apps, apps that are vital to the function of their organization, comprised security is a real concern. Fewer than one in five enterprises conduct third party software security assessments even though 63% of reported data breaches are the result of a deficiency in third party code.

So how do you protect yourself and your company from dangerous breaches? Always check that the software itself is secure with Veracode's VerAfied mark. Remember that if your software vendors are not showing you that their products are secure then they likely are not secure.
