Enter your rescued dog in the 2014 Furever Rescued Calendar contest

It's that time of year again. Beginning March 1, the Furever Rescued Foundation is accepting entries for its annual calendar contest and your rescued dog could be voted into the 2014 calendar.

The Furever Rescued Calendar is lovingly produced and truly a work of art. Winners can be proud to have their pets adorn the calendar's pages and the finished product benefits rescues on a grand scale. The calendar is sold with the opportunity to donate half of the selling price to any of the organizations signed up to participate as a beneficiary.

The contest for the 2013 calendar received over 160 entries. The voting was fierce and in the end 12 lucky dogs (including 2 from Waterbury) made the final cut. 114 rescues from 48 states collected in excess of $5000.00. After the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, a special fund was set up donating an additional portion of sales to disaster relief.

Get your entry in early and spread the word for your friends to vote once every day. Visit the Furever Rescued Foundation's Facebook page for all the details.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to technical difficulties at startup, voting will be once per person. While it was not intended to be the case, it is less fair to change rules once a contest has started than to make it what people expected. According to Jessica Price, founder of the Furever Rescued Foundation: "It was originally set up to be one vote per day, per person, just like last year. It was also set to be automatically launched on March 1st. It didn't launch on its own, however, and had to be done manually. When I launched it manually, apparently the settings changed. I was unaware of this until several people inboxed me stating they thought otherwise. Now that the contest is four days in, I do not think it is fair to change the voting rules. Many thanks to all who have entered the contest along with my sincerest apologies for any confusion."
