Enslave | New Phyrexia

Enslave adds yet another creature stealing spell to the uncommon slot in Scars of Mirrodin block, but this time it's not blue.  This expensive act of cruel thievery adds insult to injury as Enslave will also damage your opponent even as you harangue him or her with their own creature.

Enchant creature

You control enchanted creature.

At the beginning of your upkeep, enchanted creature deals 1 damage to its owner.

Creature theft cards are among the strongest available in any sort of Limited Magic: The Gathering format, and New Phyrexia/Scars of Mirrodin is no exception.  While blue may be the "go to" color for this sort of trickery, it occasionally makes an appearance in black, typically with some sort of sacrifice involved.

With Enslave, you won't need to worry about a payment of any kind, outside of the rather substantial mana cost.  That's alright, though - Not only will you be acquiring the best creature on the board, but it will turn on its owner in more ways than one with some additional damage every turn.

Happen to steal an infect creature?  Yep, your creature will be dishing out poison to its former master every turn.

Enslave will likely be first pick material as we move into New Phyrexia, with plenty of high casting cost creatures that will be excellent targets.  With Enslave, you will often 2 for 1 or more, stealing the opponent's bomb creature and winning with it outright or costing them an essential removal piece.

Take Enslave high, as it's one of blacks best removal pieces in the block  - and that's saying something.
