Roughly one month from now, visitors to the Universal Orlando Resort will be transported as if by magic from the tropical environment of sunny Orlando to the city of jolly old London as the newest expansion of the the Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley finally opens it's gates to the public. Here, tourists will be able to explore even more of the amazing world created by novelist JK Rowling, including the next generation thrill ride, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, where guests are propelled into a pivotal scene from the final Harry Potter book and film.
Guests will pass through London and the iconic brick wall archway into Diagon Alley – a bustling, wizarding hub within a Muggle city. Once inside, muggles and magicfolk will be able to stroll along the streets of Diagon Alley and stop inside well-known shops like Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, Magical Menagerie and Quality Quidditch Supplies. If they dare, they can also experience the darker side of magic in Knockturn Alley.
Although Ollivanders has been in business for a few years inside Islands of Adventure, everyone knows that the original location, servicing wizards young and old since 382 BC, is located on Diagon Alley. This marquee location will also allow people to witness the magical experience of a wand choosing a wizard. Who knows? The wand might even choose you!
After exploring the mean streets of London, you can ride the iconic Hogwarts Express to travel between King’s Cross Station in Universal Studios and Hogsmeade Station in Islands of Adventure. The scenic, breathtaking journey will transport guests through the British countryside as they encounter magical creatures and familiar Harry Potter characters.
In The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, which opened in 2010 at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, guests can experience Hogsmeade village and Hogwarts castle – which houses the groundbreaking Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction.
