Families seeking hiking trails and outdoor fun in Las Vegas area will enjoy the new Hidden Falls Park in Henderson, NV. The park is located on an expansive 60-acre site, 18 acres of which has been developed with neighborhood and community park amenities including a playground, splash pad, dog park, skate park, basketball court, shaded picnic ramadas, restrooms, and a trailhead.
“Hidden Falls Park is nestled against the mountains, and it was designed to blend harmoniously with the natural, rugged look of the area,” says Shari Ferguson, assistant director, City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. “Residents will especially enjoy the trails and scenic overlooks, which provide a quiet opportunity to reconnect with nature.”
Hidden Falls Park is a gateway park to regional hikes. The Amargosa Trail, which is popular for hikers and their canine friends, continues from where Horizon Drive terminates. After entering the trailhead, hikers can opt to link up with Sloan Canyon National Park in a short half mile walk. For even shorter treks there are switchbacks that reach an overlook.
While hiking along the trails is a popular activity, kids will also enjoy the park's playground and water park. The playground offers a unique play strucuture, called the EVOS, which is innovative in its design and built specifically to offer creative, imaginative, physical play. The adjoining water park is perfect for cooling off during the hot summers.
Hidden Falls has something to offer every member of the family. With the desert mountains as its backdrop, the park is unlike any other in Clark County. Hidden Fall Park is located at 281 W. Horizon Drive, just West of the I-515 at the Horizon Drive exit.
