Are your taste buds up for a challenge?
The 5th annual Corona Paella Challenge is coming to the Historic Pearl Brewery on March 9th from 11a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The location is at 200 E. Grayson Street.
Cost for tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for under age 21, this includes an all-inclusive sampling of the variety of paella dishes and beverages (wines from Spain, beer and sangria) plus the live entertainment.
Paella is the favorite culinary dish of Spain and the main ingredients are white rice, chicken, rabbit, vegetables and seafood. It is a hearty meal that combined with the spices of saffron to give it a golden yellow hue. It originated from the region of Valencia and other varieties of the dish have evolved.
This event will benefit the Culinary Institute of America and The Educational Foundation of San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Some of the local corporate sponsors include HEB, Pearl Brewery and Valero plus it is hosted by Chef Johnny Hernandez.
